1. Data we process

Depending on the features you use, we may process:

  • Account and authentication: email address, account identifier, verification codes and records, IP address, device or browser information, and data required to maintain your session and protect access.
  • Profile and preferences: name, language, age range, gender, familiarity with the Bible, reading frequency, goals in the app, life situation, recurring emotions, content and conversation preferences, message times, and appearance settings.
  • Content you provide: check-in responses, emotions and reported intensity, free-form text, journal entries, conversation messages, response ratings, and saved verses.
  • App usage: screens and actions used, reading progress, usage streaks, dates and times, AI feature usage counts, and basic technical information such as platform and version. Product activity logs are limited to usage data; journal and message content is not included in these logs.
  • Notifications: device push token, time zone, selected days and times, and delivery status when you allow notifications.
  • Subscriptions: customer, store, and product identifiers; access status and period; purchase or renewal events; amounts; and campaign attribution information, where applicable. Payment is processed by the operating system's store; the app uses the data required to recognize and manage access.
  • Audio: when you choose to record a message, the file is used for transcription. The transcribed text may be incorporated into content that you choose to send or save.

Information about spiritual life, religious beliefs, emotions, and personal circumstances may reveal sensitive personal data. Avoid entering third-party data or information that is not necessary to use the feature.

2. How we use data

We use data to create and protect your account; deliver readings, journaling, and conversations; personalize content and preferences; send requested notifications; transcribe audio; manage subscriptions; measure product operation and usage; prevent abuse and failures; respond to requests; and comply with legal obligations.

Processing required to provide the account and requested features may rely on the performance of the service. Technical and security records, subscription administration, and compliance with legal requirements may rely on other legal bases provided under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), according to the specific purpose. When the law requires consent, especially for the optional use of sensitive data in AI features, we will request a specific choice. You can review this choice in the Privacy and AI settings.

Refusing or withdrawing consent for AI blocks features that depend on sending data to the AI provider. Other features available without AI may continue to be used.

3. Artificial intelligence and audio

When you accept AI features, messages, audio submitted for transcription, relevant profile excerpts, preferences, and conversation context may be sent to OpenAI, through Biblie's infrastructure, to generate responses, devotionals, prayers, transcriptions, and search or moderation features. Generated responses may contain errors and do not replace individual medical, psychological, or pastoral guidance.

Conversations and text you save remain associated with your account to provide history and continuity. Audio recording requires microphone permission and is sent for transcription when you choose this function. You can revoke microphone permission in your device settings.

4. Who we share data with

We share only the data required for each service with:

  • Supabase: authentication, database, and application support functions.
  • OpenAI: processing of the AI features described above.
  • Expo and system notification services: delivery of requested notifications using the push token.
  • Adapty, Apple App Store, and Google Play: management of offers, purchases, and subscriptions according to the channel used.
  • Adjust: campaign attribution measurement when this feature is enabled in the app.
  • Access-email service provider: delivery of authentication codes.

Authorized members of the Biblie team may access information required for support, security, and operations. Usage and subscription indicators may also be reviewed for product management. Data will be shared with authorities when required by law or a valid order. We do not sell the content of your journal or conversations.

5. Storage, security, and international transfers

Account data and saved content are stored in the infrastructure used by Biblie. Some preferences, session data, and cached content are also stored on the device. We use access controls and technical safeguards to reduce the risk of unauthorized access. No system is completely secure.

The service providers listed above may process data outside Brazil. International transfers must comply with the mechanisms and safeguards required by the LGPD and applicable regulations.

We retain data for the period required for the stated purposes, the provision of the service, compliance with legal obligations, or the defense of rights. The retention period may vary according to the data category and service involved. After that period, data is deleted or anonymized when appropriate. Records required by law and information retained by payment providers may follow their own retention periods.

6. Your choices and rights

You can edit profile preferences, control notifications, review AI consent, and request account deletion in the application. After the request is completed, access is terminated and data linked to the account that does not need to be retained under a legal obligation or another basis permitted by the LGPD is deleted. If you cannot complete the request in the app, use the privacy channel above. An active subscription must also be canceled in the store where it was purchased.

Through the privacy channel above, you may request confirmation of processing, access, correction, information about sharing, portability when applicable, anonymization, blocking or deletion of data where legally available, objection to unlawful processing, and withdrawal of consent. We may request enough information to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

If our response does not resolve your request, you may submit a petition to Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

7. Teenagers and children

Registration offers age ranges starting at 13 years old. Biblie is not directed to children under 13. For users under 18, processing must observe their best interests and applicable law. Parents or guardians may use the privacy channel to request information or action concerning the data of a minor under their responsibility.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the app, service providers, or legal requirements. The date at the beginning of the document identifies the latest version. If a change requires renewed consent, we will ask for your choice before the corresponding processing begins.

9. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, email dev@efice.co and include the email address associated with the account, if applicable. Do not send unnecessary sensitive content in your first message.
